The options for holiday celebration in Indianapolis are vast and varied. If you are looking for alternate ideas outside of the family neighborhood drive-by for inflated snowmen look no further..here are some cool holiday vibes to consider. Some events have been around town for a while and others are newcomers. Here are some of our favorite ideas for 2017:
Chinese Lantern Festival – Hosted by the Indiana State Fairgrounds from November 24th to January 7th , this festival is more than just lights. The Chinese Lantern Festival will include Chinese folk activities, live entertainment & music, art installations, handicraft demonstrations and traditional Chinese food. You can also purchase tickets in advance to avoid the line. It will be a stunning view with dozens of lantern displays but remember that it is outdoors so bundle up!
Tiny Wonderland (Zionsville) – From December 8 to 10th builders from various states will collide at Lion’s Park in Zionsville to present Tiny Wonderland. Visitors will be able to explore dozens of tiny homes and enjoy holiday decorations all at once. Tickets range from $10-15 (kids are free) and ensure entry for all 3 days. Try It Tiny is behind this event, allowing a closer look at both purchasing and rental options for tiny homes. You are invited to dress up in holiday attire while meeting tiny house enthusiasts and learning more about sustainable living.
There will also be a holiday village complete with horse drawn wagon rides and an Elf Scavenger Hunt. Kids under 10 are free and you can even take home a Christmas tree and meet Santa between the home tours and boutique shops.
Gallery Pastry Shop (Broad Ripple)- This little sugar hut of happiness has a great social media presence if you want to take a peak at their offerings. They offer beautiful hand made french macarons, cocktails, weekend brunch, espresso & tea and special holiday treats that are worth the trip. You can also set up a private event or purchase a cooking class for a great holiday gift.
