A hallmark of the Newkirk Realty roster of real estate agents is the diversity of experience they bring to the table and Michelle Morgan fits right in.
She blends a subtle no-nonsense approach with a fair amount of empathy about the moving process developed from her years as a military brat. The daughter of dual military parents, Michelle moved – a lot. “Both parents are retired Air Force. I really have no hometown. I lived in six states growing up.” She understands the mixed feelings of a simple move – the feeling of limbo and restlessness.
Interesting Path to a Career as a Real Estate Agent
Michelle is an Indiana University graduate, with a degree in cultural anthropology. After graduating she worked as a billing account manager in the finance division of a long-term care company. Her career path changed when she took her nascent interest in renovation and historic homes to a new level: She decided to pursue a career in real estate. “I’ve always been interested in how an old house could look refurbished,” she said.
She loves helping people paint a picture of their perfect home. “I like to get inside of their head and have some idea of their perspective. Many people today want to rehab older homes – amazing houses can come back to life. Not every client comes to us and wants turnkey. I love exploring homes and options with them.”
Welcome to Newkirk Realty!
When Michelle began looking for a way to channel this interest she was also in a place where she knew she needed a change in her career. She read an ad for a real estate assistant with Newkirk Realty – which had an emphasis on learning and obtaining a real estate license – and she just knew it would be a good fit.
She was hired in April and she’s been learning from the inside ever since. Michelle did indeed become a real estate agent in August and says, “Getting licensed was more difficult than most people think.” But as a part of Team Newkirk, Rob Newkirk has already started sharing leads and listings with her.
This job? A Perfect Fit
As a result of her experience, she’ll be a great asset to her clients. “I have a job where I can excel at being my true self. This job is not about selling houses, but about having people be comfortable with you and know they can count on you,” she says. Moving so much herself, she understands the importance of trust in the home buying process. Helping her clients thrive during a period of uncertainty is something she does best.
